Embarking upon a destination wedding is somewhat daunting, and choosing the right planner felt like taking a bit of a chance and then crossing fingers. We chose Make Happy Memories and they looked after us really well. Our contact Sofia was transparent and honest about what would and wouldn’t work. One thing that is key with planning a wedding abroad is regular and easy contact, and Sofia was great at that. MHM have an effective app for messaging, setting out vendor options etc. We also had periodic video calls to properly talk through the options and make decisions, then of course direct comms as the big day drew near. Importantly, Sofia is super enthusiastic. Wedding planning can inevitably be stressful at times and Sofia kept us level headed. She was also very tolerant of my keen eye on budget - and my spreadsheets (I should point out that MHM do manage the budget for you, but I love the numbers a bit too much)! The big day was amazing - everything we wanted. I’m a project manager and like to be sure that everything is running as intended - but I felt able to relax and just enjoy the day. Sofia and Ioanna were on top of everything and it went like clockwork. Thanks Sofia, Ioanna, Maria and colleagues at MHM for looking after us so well - you were a joy to deal with ❤️

Our wedding in May truly was the best day of our lives and we couldn’t have pulled it off without the MHM team 💛 In the early stages of our planning, we didn’t have "a person" but our questions were always answered and we were provided with lots of great options for vendors. Later on we were paired with Myrto who was an angel! We had lots of face time with her over Teams as well as our communication over Flowergirl and WhatsApp. She completely understood our vision for the day, respected our budget and had unwavering patience with my indecisiveness! We got to meet Myrto and Maria in October when we visited and it made us so excited for the wedding. Maria had the idea to use a part of the venue never before used for our reception and we loved it. All of our recommended vendors were perfect, the vision came to life better than I could imagine and a couple of hiccups on the day were smoothed over by the MHM team to barely impact us. Having the ladies there on the day put me at ease and they worked their socks off. Best of all, we and our guests had the best time ever and the *feel* of the day was exactly as I’d dreamed - relaxed, fun and super meaningful. As a couple residing in Melbourne, Australia with roots in Sweden and Greece, our logistical solution was to get married in Greece. I cannot stress enough how many times I have thought "thank god we had the foresight to hire planners" and then "thank god we got so lucky with our choice of planners!". Make Happy Memories truly helped us create the happiest of memories. From the start we were very pleased with MHM as our choice and they have created a fantastic app for communication, decision-making and general management of wedding tasks, allowing us to have a good overview of what is going on. We worked mostly with Sofia and the joy and effort she puts into her work is truly remarkable. During the planning stages, we had a few video calls as well as chat via the app and we always felt confident everything was under control. She was especially good at keeping us calm once the big day got closer and our nerves were acting up. Once we arrived in Greece after almost 2 years of planning, we were told by family and friends how relaxed we looked and honestly, most of the credit goes to Sofia and the team and the trust we were able to put in them. One of the best compliments I can give is how MHM managed to take our (sometimes poorly described) vision and turn it into something magical. It is evident how much experience Sofia and the team has and their ability to advise on and accommodate our wishes is something we will forever cherish. We felt the support throughout the process, but especially on the big day which allowed us to focus our full attention on having the best day and night ever. While planning our destination wedding in Greece (we’re based in NYC), we knew we needed planners who we could trust to deliver our vision and bring the local knowledge we needed. We interviewed a lot of planners and chose MHM because we felt that they were committed to delivering our vision, within our budget. We liked that their weddings all felt unique and didn’t look like a copy/paste of each other. Throughout the process, we felt that our planner, Myrto, truly had our best interest at heart. She balanced giving her perspective and listening to us really well. We felt like we had a trusted advisor which made the whole process much less stressful. She and the team went above and beyond to help us execute on our vision, and make the process as easy for us as possible. We also found that the agency model gave us a lot of peace of mind. While Myrto was our main contact, we had a lot of comfort knowing that there was a team of amazing planners who were supporting our event and could step in at any point to deliver. I think MHM would be a great fit for you if: - You want support in shaping your event, but don’t want to feel pressured - You want to be engaged in the planning process, but want to have an advisor and execution support The only thing I would flag for awareness - most of your communication happens through their app vs. live meetings. This was helpful from a time zone perspective, but sometimes felt a little disconnected. When we started having more calls / getting to know each other, my husband and I both felt more comfortable and confident in the process. We would (and have) recommend MHM to friends. Our wedding turned out to be the most magical day of our lives! We were so present and at peace thanks to the MHM team.
